Third Wildlife Forum to explore best ways to support the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework implementation – registrations open
The Collaborative Partnership on Sustainable Wildlife Management (CPW) is hosting its Third Wildlife Forum with the aim of exploring how to support the implementation of the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework ahead of the Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to be held in Kunming, China.
Registration for the hybrid forum, which will be offering sessions both virtually and in-person, as a result of the ongoing pandemic, is now open. The forum will be held within the One With Nature World Exhibition in Budapest, Hungary on the Sunday 26 and Monday 27 September 2021.
Programme session topics include:
- Landscapes as food provision systems
- Human-wildlife conflict
- Wildlife harvesting, use and trade
- Zoonotic disease and the One Health Approach
- Connectivity in thought and practice – linking the dots for sustainable wildlife management
This third CPW Wildlife Forum is testament to the continued interest and need for discussion on the interconnections and dependencies between people and wildlife in connection to the sustainable management of wildlife. It offers a vital touchpoint for discussing how to best support the sustainable wildlife management as part of the implementation of the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.”
Roland Melisch, European Strategic Partnerships Director at TRAFFIC and Vice-Chair of the CPW
The CPW, a voluntary partnership of 14 international organisations, including TRAFFIC, promotes the sustainable use and conservation of wildlife resources. It fosters discussion on the complex interconnections and mutual dependencies between wildlife and people and works to increase cooperation and coordination on sustainable wildlife management issues among its members and partners.
