Recruitment of a post-doctoral researcher

GDA, CIFOR-ICRAF, and the University of Yaoundé 1 are launching the recruitment for the post of a young post-doctoral researcher to carry out research on "the issue of elite capture and conversion of forest land". The researcher will be recruited for 24 months to work on the research theme entitled ‘’Political economy of the grabbing and conversion of forest lands by elites in the Congo Basin : Parallel study of the cases of Cameroon and Gabon’’. Gabon Program Coordinator

USAID - Specialist for regional situation assessment on combating wildlife trafficking in Central Africa

USAID’s Forest and Biodiversity Support Activity (FABS) is calling for proposals from qualified individuals/organizations to produce situation assessments on combating wildlife trafficking (CWT) in Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo. USAID - Regional Political Economy Analysis of the Forest Sector in Central Africa

USAID’s Forest and Biodiversity Support Activity is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals with a background in political economy analysis, forest economics, and experience in Central Africa to design and implement a Regional Political Economy Analysis (PEA) focused on the timber sector. The PEA will assess and developed targeted recommendations for USAID and other actors to effectively support governance improvements in Central Africa’s Forest sector, with an emphasis on understanding the underlying power dynamics and interests that shape allocation and exploitation of forests, reviewing political and macroeconomic factors influencing forest fiscal frameworks, and crafting effective policy responses that strengthen economic, social, and ecosystem resilience. AWF - Senior Program Design Officer, West and Central Africa

The Senior Program Design Officer (SPDO) contributes to African Wildlife Foundation’s (AWF) engagement with and fundraising from bi- and multi-lateral donors in in Central and West Africa with a focus initially on DR Congo and Cameroon with the aim of building and maintaining multi-donor portfolios of at least $10 million for each of the landscapes in those two countries.

The Finance Manager (FM) will provide the required oversight and advice to the leadership in the Gabon and Republic of Congo Offices with key financial information and operational analytics. The FM is also responsible for driving a culture of accountability in managing finance related matters.
